Noetic Field Therapy Practitioner Program

INTRODUCTION

The Noetic Field Therapy Practitioner Program is an exceptional opportunity for any helping professional or any mature student that wants to work or live with greater spiritual depth. The applicant must experience a Noetic Field Balancing™ as a condition of enrollment. This rigorous, 120 hour certificate program:

  • Provides a foundation in Noetic Field Therapy™ (NFT™)
  • Prepares you to use Noetic Field Balancing,
  • Clarifies and strengthens your alignment with higher consciousness,
  • Strengthens you in your soul-center as a spiritual counselor, practitioner, or mentor,
  • And, develops spiritual perception.

Classes meet for a long weekend once a month (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday), for six-month. This schedule seems to work well in the students' busy lives and makes it easier for them to commute. The program is limited to ten participants. I present the class in five day modules when I travel to Europe. Care is taken to integrate the respective backgrounds of each student into the wisdom base of the course. Each student brings a perspective of strengths and weaknesses essential to the learning experience. The safety and dimensional rapport provides an optimum setting for greater levels of learning.

Noetic Field Therapy

Noetic means spiritual mind and derives from the Greek word nous, which is the wind of spirit that emerges from the void as the first emanating spirit of creation. NFT is a spiritual approach to counseling and personal development that helps awaken us to our soul, align with our destiny and develop our natural spiritual power. I developed NFT from my clinical and teaching experience, as an application of phenomenology, ancient wisdom, spiritual practices, and the energy balancing developed at Quimby Center. Through noetic awareness, our perceptual scope expands becoming sensitive to a personal and a universal field of consciousness. As our personal space, this field is highly responsive to choice and belief, sensitive to environmental states, and responsive to spiritual alliances. The therapeutic relationship exists within a universal noetic field. When we interface with this field, it represents itself according to our character development, spiritual awareness and therapeutic intent. We experience its support as unconditionally love and universally intelligence. Our lives are purposeful, and trials and tribulations are life's way of drawing out our potentials and building the inner qualities that fulfill our soul's plan. Judgment of others is a mirror, reflecting our spiritual needs. We are drawn to situations and circumstances that will enable us to actualize and fulfill our life's promise. When we center our life in higher consciousness, our life moves into greater alignment with soul, spirit, and God. At the heart of the transformative experience is the impetus to awaken spiritually and strengthen our soul-centered life style. NFT begins by honoring our holiness, forming a partnership with higher consciousness, and activating a spiritual field in the therapeutic setting. Issues and concerns serve as mirrors for soul awakening and fulfillment. Obstacles in life that appear as stumbling blocks become stepping stones. Issues reflect as psychological distortions in the noetic space of the client and are purposeful actions indexing intentional soul aims. The keys to the soul are embedded in the psychological disturbance. The intentional aim of the soul is engaged through a therapeutic focus and revealed experientially through phenomenological protocols, resulting in understanding, epiphany or transformation.

Field Therapeutic

Noetic Field Balancing is a powerful extension of NFT. The application of the curative nature of the noetic field is ancient, finding modern expression in spiritual healing, prayer therapy, therapeutic touch, chi-gung, acupuncture, and shamanism. Classically called the human aura, this energy field is biblically referred to as a halo, radiance, or countenance. Yoga psychology views the energy field as an aura surrounding the body, interacting through spiritual and psychological levels via structures called chakras. Freeing or integrating the intentional flow of energy is a central concept in the therapies of Freud, Jung, Reich, Maslow, and Assagioli. The noetic field is more than the energy field surrounding the body. It is also the mind and spirit that communicates within, and through the energy field. The inner dimensions of our psyche appears around our physical body as layers of beliefs, emotions and archetypal forms. In terms of noetic field balancing, the location of the archetypal level and unconscious mind, of conventional psychology, is located in the space around the physical body. Our issues and concerns appear as blocks and distortions in the energy patterns of this field. The practitioner is able to detect these blocks and distortions by using higher sensory skills of inner seeing, spiritual vision, hand scanning, or dowsing. The blocks and distortions are caused by physical and emotional trauma, self judgment and limiting beliefs, or from external psychic pressures from individuals, groups or institutional belief systems. Through prayer and focus, an altered state of consciousness unfolds, enabling the practitioner to engage the blocks and distortions directly in the energy field. Through this spiritual rapport, the practitioner is able to assist the client to experience transformation and balance. The therapy occurs by deconstructing the blocking beliefs while the therapeutic focus forms a conduit for the flow of spiritual energy. The use of one's hand, or a pendulum, enhances the therapeutic focus, and the practitioner's ability to directly connect with the blocking beliefs. This flow of energy helps release the blocks and balances the field. Transformation occurs through an alliance of intervening spiritual energies, unfolding soul energies, and our own self forgiveness.

These sessions provide a powerful support: strengthening our alignment, center, clarity, and well being. It is an effective complement to therapy and healing, and promotes spiritual progress. The effects of therapeutic balancing are often subtle. The results of the session can range from deep relaxation, and perceptual clarity, greater spiritual alignment, or enlightenment. When the field is balanced, it is fluid, smooth, and energized, resuming its natural function of nourishing the body, protecting the psyche, and integrating the body, mind, soul, and spirit. The client may experience an expansive sense of well-being, greater enthusiasm, heart-felt presence, ease in daily living, more joy, or peace.

INTERVIEW AND SELECTION

For participation in this program, I require an interview, familiarity with energy therapy, experience of Noetic Field Therapy as a client, and a strong background in personal spiritual development and/or education as a therapist. I like the applicants to have a healthy relationship with their spiritual studies, professional development, and sense of soul. Though my orientation is Christ-centered, my understanding of the Christ is centered in a universal spiritual consciousness. Whatever the religious or spiritual background of the student, the experience of the program will complement any approach to spirituality that is oriented to the inherent goodness within humankind and require active participation in spiritual practices that enhance our native spiritual consciousness. It is helpful if the student is attracted to the mystical aspects of his/her religious approach. I look for a commitment to genuine service and spirituality. Arrogance is the shadow side of anyone's growth; the greater the professional and spiritual attainment, the subtler the potential arrogance. Arrogance appears in the dance between essential ego strength and its shadow, ego centeredness. Arrogance usually reflects the ways that we are not fully awakened in our soul. The unawakened aspects of soul reflect into the energy field of one's life as shadow. For this reason, ethics is an integral element of the program. I look for the candidate's responsiveness, or potential responsiveness to energy. Awareness of energy is an essential talent along with an aptitude for metaphoric thinking and symbolic literacy. Applicants are generally self-screening. When they are not ready, they find a reason they cannot take the program. They have time conflicts, financial concerns, or feel intellectually or spiritually superior to the program. I also find that the applicants who first believe that there are too many barriers, and then form the intention to enroll, find a way. They break through the invisible opposition that confronts them. We have all been on a long journey confronting and transforming the many small ways we are afraid to turn within and fully embrace the majesty of our souls.

CURRICULUM

The most important consideration for taking the Noetic Field Therapy Practitioner Certificate program is the transformation that occurs for the participant. Graduates live from a greater sense of self as energy, practice from a noetic model, and truly counsel from a spiritual perspective. Graduate have a greater sense of the holiness of self, others, and life. Their ability to respond to others in a healing transformative way is refined, palpable, and sweet. As therapists, they are able to work more deeply with their clients and respond to their clients' issues as spiritual gateways. They will serve others through Noetic Field Balancing. The key, though, is always what happens inside. The alchemical response of one's heart to the learning experience transcends everything else. It is eternal and is the existential relationship that makes all else possible. The program begins with basic concepts and information presented through didactic and experiential formats, and progress into clinical experience. After the basics, we invite volunteer clients to assist us in our practice.

Class Oversoul

As the students set their intention to take the course, I begin to experience the formation of what I call the class oversoul. This is a composite energy field made up of the higher consciousness of each participant, which appears to guide the learning of each individual in a flow for the highest good of everyone.

Each participant has certain soul lessons that the class assists them to fulfill. These lessons range from transforming karmic patterns, healing psychological and spiritual injury, developing understanding, gaining degrees of enlightenment, and developing professional skill in energy therapy. The class format provides an opportunity for each student to further develop an applied understanding of transcendental realities and forces. This process is mediated by the energy field of the class oversoul. Through this oversoul, we learn to develop greater access to the noetic energy field of Universal Holiness, the Divine, or God.

Inner Textbook

alternative medicineI wrote the textbook, Through the Eyes of Soul, as a resource for the six-month practitioner course. I consider this book to be a reflection of the inner textbook, and, as such, a means of "opening" our internal sources of wisdom. In addition, there is an immediacy in the group discussions that draws forth auxiliary material from the inner knowing of each person. Through the reflective process of questions and answers, the material is made relevant to the individual consciousness of each participant. Through the rapport developed in those interactions, new realms of knowledge open to us. The mystery may be of the Divine, but it is through us that the awareness of the mystery occurs. As the class progresses, a greater capacity to experience that mystery develops within the group and within the participants. At some point, we become aware that we are the mystery; we are the therapy, and we are the promise.

Aspects of the classroom-as-textbook are:

Safety: We begin by exploring the many faces of safety. Safety is freedom from the fear of being harmed by someone else, unseen forces, or one's self. It is also freedom from fear of losing health, wealth, happiness, or, said from a deeper perspective, losing self and the ability to be sufficient unto one's own life-stream. We all carry pictures of what safety is. Safety establishes a safe context for balancing to occur. Our sense of safety also develops as the program progresses. Some aspects of safety originate in a fear of change. Ideas or concepts can appear dangerous because to even hear them stated threatens our status quo. Safety also means befriending our shadow side and becoming conscious of the aspects of our personality that we protect. Often we protect disenfranchised aspects of self that impede greater soul awareness.

Soul-Space: Ultimately, our exploration leads us to the many ways we awaken into our soul-space. As we reformulate a sense of self within our soul-space, true safety is born. Consciousness of our eternal nature relieves the fear of spiritual annihilation. We fully exist. The issue then becomes how to extend our soulness to our minds, emotions, and body.

Energy and Symbolic Literacy: Energy sensitivity and symbolic awareness provide our touchstone for energy therapy. Each participant has a unique way of enhancing talents in these areas. As confidence in one's awareness of energy and the ability to think metaphorically develops, fear subsides and soul-space awakens.

Context: Much of noetic field therapy is preparing a place, a context, into which spiritual energy can unfold. Preparing a place includes the physical, psychic, psychological, and spiritual environment. The class is facilitated in a style that exemplifies right context.

Divine Alignment: Spiritual alignment begins with a concept and transforms into experience. Alignment for a noetic therapist goes beyond belief or a concept about spiritual relationships. The alignment must be anchored into the divine energy field as a living experience. The practitioner must be able to will the alignment and then surrender to the consequence of that alignment. The practitioner engages the atmosphere of holiness, and, then, surrenders to it. Next, the practitioner tests the guidance that resulted from surrendering. To the material mind this may seem like an oxymoron: we surrender to holiness then we test holiness.

Small Groups: We use small groups of two or three students to explore the energy field and the balancing process. Each person experiences three roles in the small groups: practitioner, client, and observer-witness. Each role teaches and strengthens certain skills. The small groups explore the physical, emotional, and mental-spiritual balancing formats.

Creative Process: Throughout the program, we work to increase our sensitivity and awareness of the texture and subtleties of consciousness, and self as energy. Strengthening one's spiritual practice is a given. Exercises that focus the consciousness and engage and open inner realities are incorporated throughout the program. Another process I like to use is the practice of drawing pictures as a form of note-taking and recording observations. Students bring a set of colored pencils and draw what they perceive in the energy field during the balancing. Drawing seems to link the student into a flow of energy that enhances spiritual seeing and thinking. The drawing allows a conduit for greater intuitive teaching while the student is sketching and observing. Drawing someone as a holy being, in their full color and radiance, seems to enhance their well-being.

Interim Application: I assign activities between classes. These activities range from changing limiting habits, strengthening spiritual faculties, developing therapeutic perception, to practicing noetic field balancing. Gaining experience through doing balancing sessions between class meetings is essential.

Clinical

By the time we reach the clinical application, the students have a good grasp of the basics and will move into a rigorous process of expanding that understanding through practice, observation, reflection, refinement, and transformation. The activity alternates between discussion and application. Each student does at least two balancings while the class observes. The clients are non-student volunteers who are willing to share about their experience at the end of the session. This is a very powerful process in which each person participates in a flow of consciousness that invites a deeper relationship to higher consciousness. Participation deepens one's spirituality and extends one's capacity to experience subtle realities. Each client brings a new version of the balancing process with infinite creative possibilities. The experience as observer strengthens one's focus, surrender, and observational skills. In the practitioner role, the student's understanding is challenged and developed through application, leading to a greater sense of confidence and trust in one's spiritual partnership. The student gains a deeper sense of the inner therapist. The class "oversoul" continues to incarnate through the group process, pushing to the surface the next level of awareness, understanding, and transformation. In their first balancing, the students practice the standard procedure from the text book, Eyes Made of Soul. This establishes a base line or reference upon which more creative applications of the principles can be based. The student can always return to this form, and it will work. All other forms, no matter how esoteric they may seem, are permutations of the standard procedure. It is an archetype. Integral to this process, we develop skills for spiritual research. By the fifth session, the students have greatly matured in their sense of energy and the art of energy therapy. We focus on refinement and greater extension into one's own style. Some students are ready to experiment with the constraints of the standard procedure and experiment with its languaging and formality. In the context of the classroom, it is time to articulate inner impressions as queries to the client. While the students continue to gain greater skill and refinement, I continue to demonstrate ways to move deeper into consciousness. The interim assignment encourages the student to be more adventuresome in their questioning and formulating questions from intuitive information. It is time to further develop and test one's research and therapeutic skill. The goal is for the students to complete the training with the skill, understanding, and confidence to pursue their own experience as practitioners. I always recommend continued supervision. That is good advice for any practitioner.

POINT OF DEPARTURE

energy healing alternative medicineLearning is a change in the structure of our understanding. Information is an auxiliary means to support the developmental experience of learning. Information must be owned as an authentic soul response in order to become true wisdom. The possibilities are endless. Though no promises are made, physical healing is possible with this technique. Miracles happen. We all have areas of mental and emotional disturbance that we have forgotten. Greater alignment and understanding of our spirituality and purpose is an innate drive. We adapt to our forgotten hurts and judgments. We are often surprised how different we feel after we are balanced. Some things are easy to change. Other areas may need more time or prolonged counseling before we are ready to balance them. By engaging the healing energies of life through noetic field therapy, we open new doors to our spiritual understanding and graceful living. This offers a point of departure for exploring a larger perspective of human reality and the implications it holds for our well-being. We are wondrous even in our most challenged moments. Ralph Waldo Emerson believed we had within us all the wisdom of nature and the universe. If that is so, our injuries foretell our healing and our limitations foretell our expansiveness. In this universe of energy, consider that therapy is a location where souls meet and in which impersonal intimacy reclaims its forgotten selves until all exists in a sea of loving.

When we meet
In the heart of the creator,
Our wounds
Become a warrior’s footprint,
Our trials and tribulations
Become a healing balm,
Our dark night,
A passage into day.
